1. Who's eligible?
Be eligible for normal retirement:
1) Age 62 or older regardless of years of PSERS service,
2) Age 60 with at least 30 years of service, or
3) Any age with at least 35 years of service.
OR
Have at least 30 years of PSERS service regardless of age.
2. What?
$25,000 lump sum payment, but must agree that the incentive is in lieu of and not in addition to any other payouts you would be entitled to, such as compensation for unused sick days and the like.
3. When?
To qualify, notice of your intent to retire no later than July 15, 2010, and retirement must be effective no later than August 15, 2010.
AND
Eligible employees will be contacted by mail next week.
4. Other info:
- PSERS will be on site on Friday, June, 18th to meet with interested individuals.
- YES! Those individuals who have already submitted their intent to retire, but who have not yet retired are eligible for the incentive (as long as they meet #1 above).
- This is ABSOLUTELY A ONE TIME OFFER with no expectation of implementation in the future.
